Sunday, March 1
4:00–7:00pm
Technology has changed our world.
We carry in our pockets access to more information than all the libraries in the world combined. We connect instantly with people across the globe. AI is reshaping how we learn, work, and create. But technology hasn’t only changed our world—it has changed us. It shapes the way we think, act, and relate to others, often without us even realizing it.
Join us for Truth Talk: Technology on March 1 from 4:00–7:00pm as we take a thoughtful, biblical look at how technology impacts us and how we can use it wisely. Associate Pastor Brian Hinton will help us consider how to think biblically about technology and the ethical challenges previous generations never imagined. Then guest speaker Dr. Shelly Melia will explore the impact of AI on our lives and offer practical guidance for using technology in ways that honor the Lord.
There is no cost to attend.
Childcare is available for children birth to fourth grade (space is limited). Students fifth grade and up are encouraged to attend.
Session 1: Technology and Theology
Brian Hinton
How does Scripture impact the way we think about technology? In this session, we’ll explore how to use God’s Word to evaluate technology so we are influenced more by biblical truth than the culture around us.
Session 2: How AI Impacts Us
Shelly Melia
Technology is not neutral—it shapes how we think, feel, and act. This session examines the ways artificial intelligence is influencing our habits, decisions, and relationships, often in subtle ways we don’t notice.
Session 3: Living Faithfully in a Digital World
Shelly Melia
While we may not be able to change the culture, we *can* change the way we live within it. This session offers practical, faith-filled ways to engage technology in a manner that honors the Lord and reflects His design for our lives.
