Women’s Ministry: Ministering

Shepherds’ Staff
The purpose of the Shepherd’s Staff ministry is to express appreciation and love to missionaries visiting our church. Working closely with our Missions Ministry, volunteers offer words of encouragement, assemble gift bags and serve at receptions. These are just some of the ways this team ministers to men and women who serve in full time missions.

Desire of the Heart
This ministry supports women facing infertility, miscarriage or struggles with adoption within the boundaries of a biblical world view. It’s focus is to encourage each woman as she faces the physical, emotional, spiritual and ethical aspects of this journey. Desire of the Heart meets the second Monday evening of each month.

Adoption Ministry
This ministry offers support for families considering adoption or who are in the adoption process. An important part of this ministry is to connect families and form support groups necessary to encourage our members on their adoption or orphan care journey.

Always Loved Widows Ministry
The Always Loved Widows Ministry is one of two grief support ministries at our church. Women in this ministry offer encouragement, comfort, empathy and friendship to those who have lost a spouse in death. This includes practical guidance during the pain and confusion of grief. Women in this ministry know what it is to be a widow and will offer Christ-like love and compassion in a safe environment. Widows of all ages are welcome.

Always Loved offers three ways to support and minister to widows:

  • First Touch Team
This is a group of women who reach out to a newly widowed woman in our church and community. A gift basket is provided that includes helpful books, music and information.
  • Grief Share Support Group
Grief Share meets once a week for 13 weeks and includes a workbook and video study. Between the 13 week cycles we take a break for a few weeks and have a lunch or dinner with a speaker or testimonies.
  • Helping Hands
Always Loved has partnered with this Hunter Street ministry to help widows who may have household or auto repair needs. Those in the Helping Hands Ministry provide “handyman tasks” at no labor charge. While we may not be able to fulfill all requests, we strive to point you to the person who can help.
