Missionaries and the lost peoples of the world need our prayers. Paul the Apostle often requested prayer for himself. That need continues today around the world.

  • Do you have a heart to see the gospel taken to the nations?
  • Do you recognize the reality of spiritual warfare?

If so, you will want to pray consistently for specific missionaries, cities, or people groups with whom Hunter Street works and may want to join our MAPP team.

This ministry is for people who regularly GO to various parts of the world to share Christ, or for those who can't go but know that prayer is vital in the work of the Great Commission.

MAPP (Missions Advocacy Prayer Partners) is a ministry that can be done in group settings or in the privacy of your own home, office or school. It is for adults and students.

MAPP (Missions Advocacy Prayer Partners)

…pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel.   Ephesians 6:19

There is a group of Hunter Streeters who gather to pray for missionaries, cities, nations and the lost peoples of the world. The ministry that undergirds these gatherings is called MAPP, or Missions Advocacy Prayer Partners.

MAPP is open to any person who has a desire to be used of God in supporting the work of missions through prayer.

Alfred, Lord Tennyson said, “more things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.”

Of course, God’s Word has much to say about prayer and praying for the nations to know Him and bring Him glory. The apostle Paul asked for prayer on his behalf by the first-century churches. He asked that he might proclaim the gospel with boldness. In Romans 15 he said that he desired to preach the gospel where the name of Christ had not yet been known. That is the heart of missions work, proclaiming the gospel to those who have never heard. Prayer supports this proclamation of the good news.

We often ask missionaries with whom we work “what is is that we can do to support you?” Almost without exception the first answer given is “pray for me.”

You may already pray for missionaries and the lost peoples of the world on your own. There is also great value in gathering with others from Hunter Street to pray for specific needs shared with us by missionaries and missions teams that have ventured forth from Hunter Street across North America and to the “remotest parts of the earth.”

Would you consider joining with others as part of the MAPP Ministry?
