Meet Sharon Jordan

Sharon is a native of Birmingham. She is married to Charlie Jordan and together they have 7 grown children–6 sons and 1 daughter, plus 1 daughter-in-law, 1 son-in law, and 3 grandchildren. Family gatherings are huge and full of fun!

Sharon trusted Jesus as her Savior and Lord when she was 8 years old and was blessed to grow up in a strong Christian home and church. She worked in early childhood education for several years before moving to Hoover in 1990. At that time God led her to Hunter Street where she joined the church family and served in several ministry areas.

Sharon has had the joy of serving as Minister of Membership since 1997. Her favorite past time is spending time with family. She also enjoys music, reading and antiques; and has a goal of resuming writing and painting while she is still young enough to think and see clearly!

Be a Part of the Hunter Street Family

Hunter Street is a family of people. We do many of the things you would expect a healthy family to do. We encourage, care about and help each other, and hold one another accountable. We are a spiritual family, connected by our common faith in and commitment to Jesus Christ.

Membership Information Class

Each month a fun, casual and informative class is offered for those who want to learn more about Hunter Street's beliefs, purposes and vision and what it means to belong to Jesus Christ and the Hunter Street church family. The Membership Information Class (MIC) is for adults, youth and children. Preschool childcare is provided.

Join our pastor, Buddy, as he teaches the class, meet other staff members who share about their areas of ministry and enjoy dinner and fellowship. Anyone interested in Hunter Street can come to this class. Attendees are given an opportunity to join our church family at the conclusion of the Membership Information Class.

This class is a requirement for church membership.

The M Class at Hunter Street

Are you ready to go to the next level in your spiritual growth? We’ve combined the formerly separate Maturity, Ministry and Missions classes into one lively and concise three-hour session. If you have completed the Membership Information Class, then this is your next step!

What can you expect? The M Class is the place to learn to grow in your walk with Christ, identify ways you can serve others to the glory of God and find out how you can go on mission to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Hunter Street ministers Kerry Jones, Spencer Knight and Frank Blackwell lead this class.

Next Step Class

Next Step is a seven-week “hands-on” class offered to adults of all ages. Some of the topics covered in the class include:

Do you desire to know how to study and understand the Bible?
Would you like your prayer life to be more effective?
Have you wondered how to know God’s will for you?
Are you becoming more like Jesus?
