"Christian hope" is the confident, joyful expectation that God is working both now and in the future for my good and His glory. Hope is the theme at Hunter Street in 2009, a year devoted to understanding "Christian Hope.

Soli Deo Gloria: Glory To God Alone was our emphasis in 2008. During the year we studied what it meant to glorify and speak of God's glory. We studied how God reveals His glory so that we would see it, enjoy it, share it and live for His glory.

The Centennial Celebration began 2007 as the family of Hunter Street celebrated 100 years of serving the Lord. In September our church family wrote letters to future generations and placed them, along with other memorabilia, in the 2057 Time Capsule. The Time Capsule is located in the floor of the Atrium, across from The BookStore.

Classic Truth journals were one of the elements in our year-long emphasis called Truth: Know It. Think It. Live It. Tell It. Our goal? Allow Truth – God's Word – to transform and grow our members during 2006 and beyond.

In the Fall of 2006, the first Living Truth Conference was held, which focused on cultivating a biblical worldview.

The Symphony, a life of worship to an almighty God, was the focus in 2005. An original work of music, "Symphony To The Most High God," was commissioned for this year. It was written by nationally known arranger Philip Allen.

This was also the year when members learned to answer the question: What is the chief end of man? Man’s chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever!

…and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the end of the earth. Acts 1:8

More than 900 people went On Mission for Jesus Christ, at home and around the world in 2004. This represented 30 mission teams to 8 states, 12 different countries and 5 continents.

All combined, Hunter Street members traveled more than 3.3 million miles On Mission in 2004.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,I was naked and you clothed me,I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Matthew 25:35-36

Ministry was the focus in 2003 and during the year hundreds of our members discovered the joy of servanthood.

That fall, It's Your Serve, Every Member A Minister was a day of church-wide ministry. Hundreds of members participated by feeding, clothing, caring, befriending, and visiting people in our community.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers… Acts 2:42-47

Connecting our members with one another and with Jesus Christ was the 2002 Membership emphasis.

Eager about what is ahead, I press forward to the goal… Philippians 4:13-14

Hunter Street members committed to "making room for one more." Our Continuing The Legacy…for a New Generation campaign included a new Children's Building, Student Building, renovations, additional parking and the purchase of the former Y-Woods recreation complex, now known as Legacy Park.

Growing in God's Word was the focal point in 2000 as our church family read and studied the Bible together "Discovering God's Word," on this 16-month journey.

"40 Days of "The Harvest"
…whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31

In November 1998 our church committed to a year of "The Harvest." It was a calling and commitment for God's people to pray, fast, read the Bible daily, witness and actively demonstrate Christ's love to others, and in October 1999 to give their entire monthly income.

The result was an outpouring of faithfulness by our members. The Harvest offering went to renovate the Worship Center by adding 508 seats, fund missions and retire debt, increase office space, add a welcome center and develop a new parking plan.
